this is obviously an issue you're passionate about. I can give you the numbers of some people at LSU if you'd like to market your brand of field turf to them? :hihi:
... Thanks but I'm not in that line of business. I just want to see the Tigers win more games like they did on Wednesday and the 03 Sugar and last year's BCS game. I think it is a shame that we have one of the top three fastest teams in the nation, yet we play on one of the slowest tracks in the country. I just want LSU to win.
LSU lost to lowly Arkansas on the smooth turf. and played their worst half in the Les Miles era against Tulane on the carpet.
True, field turf does not improve the teams readiness to play. The fast track only enhances the major speed advantage we have over nearly every team on our schedule. In games we were undoubtedly ready to play since 2003 (games v the top 25) we were 9-1 on turf and 15-10 on natural grass. I already gave you the numbers in my first post; there is no getting around them. If you don't want field turf in Tiger Stadium for some aesthetic, nostalgic or spiritual reason, say so. But, don't bring up numbers b/c they just don't work.
Could a statistician please tell us over the last few years how many games LSU has lost in Tiger Stadium on this inferior natural grass? Thank you.
Isn't the injury rate higher on turf than natural grass? I'd favor real grass if that's so. That's what I heard on TV.
Yes I can. *Since 2003 @ Tiger Stadium 9-3 v Top 25 (Before this season, they only had one loss at home) Avg score of 27.5- 21 Avg opponent ranking of 12th On Artificial Turf 9-1 v Top 25 Avg score of 29.5- 15.9 Avg opponent ranking of 9th
He's obviously a field turf dealer or salesman. All of his posts are about it. Read my lips . . . never . . . .gonna . . . happen. The grass in Tiger Stadium will be just fine as it always has been.
