    Tiger QB rankings since 1990….

    1 Matt Flynn
    2 JaMarcus Russell
    3 Matt Mauck
    4 Rohan Davey
    5 Herb Tyler
6 Jarrett Lee (could move to #2 if he wins a NC this year after rocky start)
    7 Marcus Randell
    8 Jamie Howard
9 Jordan Jefferson (could move to #7 if he wins a NC this year coming off the bench)
    10 Craig Nall

    Honorable Mention Chad Loup!

Matt Flynn needs to drop a bit..
    125 passer rating
    56% completion percentage
    21 tds 11 ints

    Mauck's stats are much better...
    148 rating
    64% completion percentage
    28 tds 14 ints

Flynn was definitely not as polished as Mauck. Both had a winner's attitude, but Mauck was the better QB.

    I would say:

    1. Mauck
    2. Flynn
    3. Davey
    4. Lee (Leads SEC in passing eff., lead us to first 8-0 start since the 70s, could easily catapult to #1 if this season continues to pan out)
    5. Russell
    6. Tyler
    7. Jefferson
    8. Randall
    9. Howard
    10. Nall

Hence the ranking of Tiger QBs, not NFL QBs who played at LSU. Mauck was also 25 when he left LSU, so his value to an NFL roster was limited as a backup.

How the hell does Craig Nall make the list? May as well put Clausen on that bitch too. And Jaime Howard? I think Auburn just picked another one off and returned it for 6.

Even though it was a disappointment, Ryan Perrilloux did more than either of those 2. He won an SEC championship game, and was a major reason we beat Florida that year. Had alot of PT in 2007.

Jarrett Lee is projected to have 23 touchdowns against only 2 interceptions and the 2nd best QB rating in that time frame. 8.1 ypa, 63 % completion rate.

    You could argue Russell in 2006 (167 QB Rating, 28 TDs, 8 Ints, 68 %, 9.1 ypa) or Mauck in 2003 (148 QB Rating, 28 TDs, 14 Ints, 64 %, 7.9 ypa).

Flynn's numbers in 2007 are pedestrian (6.7 ypa, 56 % completion rate, 21 TDs, 11 Ints, 125 QB rating) on the surface. People generally spin the season to be much better than what was reality in terms of the QB position. That ultimately was Hester's offense.

Herb Tyler should be at or near the top. He might not have been the most talented of that bunch but he was a consistent and quality field general for 3+ years. 60% career passing pct, passed for 5876 yds and 40 tds, rushed for 773 yds and 23 tds, and a career QB rating of 141.5.
