Im all the way out at Michoud/NASA but I'll try and get by there for lunch one day soon. Hows parking round then? Didnt you have a place on the Northshore? If so, send me the addy for that too.
I used to have the Abita Springs Cafe, but my lease ended and the owners of the building took over my business and they operate that restaurant now. That's why I moved to Gentilly. I really feel good about helping the neighborhood recover. Several of the levee breaks were around here and Gentilly was destroyed. The only area worse than this one was the ninth ward. All the houses around here are renovated, but a lot of them are empty. Across the street is the Milne boys home and it's slowly being renovated into a charter school. It used to be a reform school and Louis Armstrong was sent here as a teen. It's real cool to have a restaurant across the street from where he first learned to play the trumpet.
So, you are where Ted's used to be. That's my old stomping ground. Lived on Mexico St, and Arts St at one point growing up. Still have family at Paris & Filmore.
