Came across an interesting article. No matter where you wind up living, if you're from South Louisiana, some things never change. I've had so many people from W. Virginia and Pennsylvania ask why I'm wearing LSU when I haven't lived there in so long. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate good college football in Morgantown and Pittsburgh. But it ain't the same as Tiger Stadium. Luckily, LSU has scheduled WVU in '10 and '11. I'll be hosting a few WVU fans at Tiger Stadium and they will see for themselves. Thanks for posting that column. I can definitely relate to it. It makes me miss my hometown. The place where I live now is clean and safe, with great public schools and little-to-no traffic problems. But, man, that made me miss Baton Rouge...
A great read. It serves to remind me, and maybe some of you, that entwined in the fabric of our lives are the colors Purple and Gold. That a Sunday afternoon, home from morning mass, sitting on the back patio, listening to our parents and grandparents spin the tales of their lives. Forever engrained in us a simpler time, a peace that brings us back to forgetting the complexities of the world. A Saturday nite in Tiger Stadium, when all that matters is what happens on the field. That forever we are Tigers, that forever our hearts, minds, and souls will always look forward to that Sunday afternoon when we spin the yarns of our lives to our children. Creating the next generation of Tigers.
I became a Tiger fan during my childhood years while living in Louisiana. My uncle graduated from LSU and, thanks to a gloomy home life, found happiness in Saturdays at Baton Rouge. I'm proud to a Tiger fan. :LSU231:
