Tiger Fan Shout-Outs

Ever try to talk LSU with someone wearing purple and gold or someone with some sort of LSU paraphernalia on their vehicle - only to have them just do that half-ass giggle laugh and say "yeah" to everything you say? Pisses. me. off.

 

I almost forgot about this. When we went to Maui last year I was wearing purple and gold on the flight. When we landed in DFW, I got more "Geaux Tigers" than I've ever heard in Mississippi.

When we got to the hotel, the guy that brought our luggage in was throwing all kinds of knowledge around. Everytime I saw him, he would give me a "Geaux Tigers". As I was usually intoxicated, I would give an extra loud "Geaux Tigers". My wife doesn't get it:dis:

 

You haven't been around me or my son - you'd get a big "Geaux Tigers, Geaux" from us.

 

I lived near downtown Houston (Heights) from 2001-2008 and have lived in The Woodlands since then. Although I've never been very active in either, I suggest checking out the lsuhouston.com and lsunorthhouston.com chapters for ongoing events (happy hours, crawfish boils, etc.).

I'm not that outgoing but usually increase my "Geaux Tigers" response based on how far I am from Baton Rouge. I often strike up a short conversation if in TX but have expanded into longer if in a state further away. I was in Norway once and saw a guy with an LSU hat so had to "make it a big deal".

When I did summer work at Eglin AFB I'd get looks and comments if I was wearing LSU gear. Panhandle Florida is riddled with Gator fans.

I actually went to a conference in Orlando a couple of years ago and had to check out around 3 am. The girl handling checkout saw my LSU cap and we started talking. Turned out she was friends with Dwayne Bowe back in high school. One of those small world kind of moments.

I don't know. I had a friend move to Austin a few years back. I went visit and got sick of seeing that burnt orange, and longhorn stickers on cars/trucks.

 

maybe that's the only clothes they had that was clean that day?

 

hey, i'm going to vegas aug 12-15 for rush concert. i'll be in purple and gold, and probably a little saints gear too. i'll be doing most of my drinking at o'sheas and the strip burger.
