i think she is confused that its tyson jackson. replace his name with dorsey then its not confusing at all. thanks for the clarification.
Yeah the coaching blunders from last year really hurt some of the guys stock. Herm, RJF, Byrd, Beckwith were all considered top two round guys based on potential.
Coaching had nothing to do with RJF making a bad decision and going out early. Had nothing to do with Beckwith being hurt 3-years in a row. If you can't play 12 in a year, how will you play 16? Had nothing to do with Byrd's accident.
RJF leaving early was not a bad decision. He would not have made the grades and would have hurt himself even more. Beckwith's injuries were not the knock, he was talked about being a 1st or 2nd round pick by the heads before the start of the season, it was the down season that he had just like RJF. Both were mostly due to the horrendous defensive scheme. Byrd's accident maybe dropped him two rounds. The problem was you take a guy that prior to the season is being described as on of the top receivers for this draft. The coaches take forever to decide to put in a QB thats is worth a **** and the numbers for Byrd are not there. Now he overemphasized it by vocally being pissed off about the ****ty QB play which I'm sure did't help.
1. Academics were not an issue for Ricky Jean's decision. You show me proof of that, I'll show you a Louisiana glacier. That is just internet speculation by people like us who were hungry for a reason as to why he'd go out after a bad season. It could have been an issue of him not wanting to do the work to pass for 2-3 more semesters, but his final GPA in his last semester was passing easily (or else he wouldn't have played in the bowl). 2. Beckwith's stock falling is 100% injuries. Why were his numbers down this year? Because he missed 2-3 games maybe? He has been injured with the same injury all three years of his career. He was red-flagged by a lot of teams. 3. Byrd's QB play didn't help him. But he just didn't play well all year, regardless of his QB. Ole boy had 2 catches for 35 against Arkansas and 3 catches for 10 in the bowl. What's the excuse those games? The poor QB play didn't hurt LaFell that bad.
You're right clair. Our defensive scheme was perfect last year. It put those guys in the right position every damn time to make the perfect play. And the decision to break the world record for pick sixes and over thrown receivers did nothing but help the team grow stronger. :dis: The fact is, this isn't just coming out of my ass. I think the exact quote was RJF had first round NFL talent, he just needed a coach. (kiper) And that Byrd had the down year because of horrible QB play. Do I think these are there only excuses? Hell no, but they are legitimate. This staff has been horrible at getting the most out of the available talent. It's just a fact. You can't deny it, the proof is there. Hopfully that changes this year.
If this is correct than LSUsports.net made a mistake as well. Jackson Makes History, Picked No. 3 by Chiefs - LSUsports.net—The Official Web Site of LSU Tigers Athletics I did some research and he was not drafted as a RB but as a B and Punter and most of that info came from LSUsports.net as well. Wikipedia is the only source that I saw that was wrong like always. Wiki said he was converted after the draft. Good info...
SEC led the way with 37 players selected in the draft. The ACC was 2nd with 33 taken. LSU and UGA led with 6 players each.
