I haven’t been following except to know he isn’t killing it. Seems in his best interest to return, and if our depth sucks I don’t think Maineri will hesitate to start him. Not a fan of Maineri. I’d be surprised if we win more than 1 vs AU, and not surprised if we’re swept. Also expect postseason to fizzle out quickly.
I think he'll improve as a starter if they send him to the right summer league and get good coaching. I don't know for sure, But our pitching coach may not be doing a good job.

Could be but I think Hess has more of a closer's mentality. He has pitched great games at times as a starter but has been inconsistent. Pitch count early has been horrendous. I don't know what new pitchers CPM will bring in next season but I could see Eric Walker on Fridays with Hilliard and maybe Cam Sanders Saturdays and Sundays with Hess in the pen. Labas could be in the mix but he needs to get more velocity on his fastball.
