That is correct. Simmons' father and Patrick were best buds in the playing years, is what I read. Part of that was becoming his godfather, and they have all stayed very close. Simmons respects Patrick a lot, and really liked LSU from the outset. Once he committed, he has not wavered.
Just read Patrick's bio as a player & coach. He sounds worthy of his position and recent promotion although could see how others may view it differently (not that I've seen much discussed about it). Better situation than the Louis Earl and other Glen Oaks teammate 3-fer package deal.
