Sorry if I posted this in the wrong forum, but it's not really a request for tickets. I've never been to any college game so I am completely ignorant to how the process of buying tickets works. I know on sites such as stub-hub, tickets to most games are already availlable @ ridiculous prices. This seems fishy to me as most of these tickets aren't yet on sale. Could someone please help me out & inform me of the right way to go about getting tickets to games in Tiger Stadium? Are certain games, Alabama for example, completely impossible to get tickets to?
nothing is impossible if you have the right amount of money. for the big LSU games, best bet is to come to the stadium with cash and buy from someone around tiger stadium on game day. Alabama will be a tough ticket, unless you want to pay way above face value.
You have a number of options. Stub Hub/Tick Brokers - As you mentioned you can buy from stub hub. They act as a intermediary so you are protected. You never actually deal with the seller. If the seller doesn't produce the tickets stubhub returns you money. Prices are outragious though. LSU ticket office - Some of the out of conference games don't sell out and single game tickets get sold on the LSU ticket site. Don't plan to get tickets to any good OOC or SEC games this way. Message boards - Many of the LSU message boards (including this one) have ticket exchange sections. Also dandydon.com has an exchange section as well. The best way I've found is on Gameday. A lot of people that travel in want the security of knowing they have tickets in hand but if you can hold out until gameday you will get the best deal. Tailgates - This is you best bet for getting tickets at a decent price. Just walk around campus on gameday. Stop at tailgates and meet people. Chances are you will find someone with extra tickets they want to sell. Use an approach like, "I've been an LSU since xxx but this is my first chance do go to an actual game. Tailgating here is amazing!" Sellers outside the stadium - As people head to the stadium they will try to sell off any extra tickets they might have. Look for people holding tickets in the air. Scalpers - At the major intersections there sill be guys with sings say "I need Ticket" or something like that. They are scalpers. Act like you know what your doing and you can haggle with them.
Do NOT use stub hub. I had a very bad experience with them a few years ago. Their "guarantee" has a lot of fine print and they do not ban sellers with histories of not producing tix.
Thanks for your responses. So my best bet is to drive 700 miles & hope I can find two tickets? I really want to go to the WVU game.

your best bet is to drive down here, and hope it rains right before game time and you find some old couple who doesn't want to sit in the rain and get their tix face value. I can't believe the prices for the WVU game. Cheapest are $100
The closer you wait til kickoff, the cheaper the price. I've successfully scored 10 dollar tickets to an Ole Miss home game (Alley Broussard's 250 yard game) and at last year's Arkansas game I was just handed tickets right before kickoff by some people who didn't feel like going. Sometimes you get luckier than others, but the longer you wait the lower the price gets. If it's not one of the bigger games, you can probably score a ticket for under 30 bucks.
