Anyone used them with success? Any bad stories? Can probably only get two bcs tickets through taf - need four.
Here are three older threads with some info that may be of interest to you. >http://forums.tigerfan.com/tigers-den/62420-ticket-reserve-peeps-lets-hear-ya.html?highlight=ticketreserve.com< >http://forums.tigerfan.com/tigers-den/62666-get-national-championship-tickets-now-ticketreserve-thread.html?highlight=ticketreserve.com< >http://forums.tigerfan.com/tigers-den/62199-ticketreserve-strategy.html?highlight=ticketreserve.com<
Back in they day (2007), it was the greatest thing ever. It was a collision of rabid, passionate sport fans with no idea how to price the chances of their team going to the NCG and really not caring to properly price it. It was the greatest futures market because it was full of irrational participants. On top of that 2007 was the best possible year for an imperfect market to exist as the #1 team seemingly lost every week. In short, it was awesome. But that only lasted a year. The BCS bowls saw all the money that was being made and they started running it. Now there is no "value" in it but it still can be a useful insurance policy for going to the game if your team makes it. That's my opinion anyway.
Thanks for the info. So for terrace seating it appears that it would be approx $500 per ticket. Is there any way of knowing what section you'll get or do you just take what whatever they give you? If we leave Tuscaloosa with a win those numbers will presumably go up quite a bit?
In 07 they didn't tell you. You got what you got. Not sure about now. I bought 4 reserves an hour after we lost the Arkansas game for $5. Still one of the greatest investment moves I've ever made.
It used to be that the reserve price was in addition to the face value of the ticket. That's what made it great as a futures market. The price of the ticket was static, and the value of the reserve fluctuated with the odds of your team getting into the game. I think I got in for about $20 per ticket. The people that scooped up after the Arky loss took a can't lose for $5 chance and were well rewarded for their investment. I would have trouble ponying up $500 for the reserve on top of the $350 ticket.
