I don't think I said that anywhere. I don't think the guys on the streets are brokers they are scalpers..............period. I was quite surprised at the number of Afro Americans with flat brim hats on and pants around their ass selling tickets on the streets of "lilly white" Boise. I did not stop and chat to see if any had "majored" in portable ticket sales promotions. As I already had tickets I did not need any but while waiting to cross the street I observed a "transaction" about to take place but the "buyer" was having a hard time understanding the "seller", being from Louisiana I understood every word he was saying and I offered my free translation service. He accepted, the deal was done, and said seller pulled his pants back up off his thighs and moved down the street.:hihi:
A scalper buys tickets and resells them for a profit. A broker matches buyers and sellers together for a fee. So in the case of an online site like Stub Hub the person selling the ticket is the scalper and Stub Hub is the broker.
In my book anyone reselling tickets for a profit is a scalper. It makes no difference if one is a unlicensed solo hustler or is an employee of a licensed ticket agency. I'd rather do business with the solo hustler, at least they are upfront about what they are doing. The big timers wish to deceive their customers by calling themselves ticket brokers instead of what they really are, scalpers.
