Don't disagree; I think we respected BYU enough to play them straight up (for the most part). It was also Canada's first game. Red zone execution and calls need work too. Special Teams were a bummer.

Taking advantage of scheme regardless of balance. I like it.

I think @tirk said it best. They didnt stack the box. I want an OC that sees that shit and runs a game plan accordingly.

In fact, its clear we need more work with some of our running plays. Some key blocks were just whiffed down at the goaline.

They were good, but they did miss some blocks. Plus, the holding calls killed drives. The 4th and goal run was just a whiff of a block.

Great point about the up tempo. I really like this and it will tire defenses out.

Also agree about him adapting his offense to the players he has. And thus my comment that I don't think we have the skill players necessary (outside Guice) that can get the job done against a great defense. There is only so much he will be able to get out of this offense without a credible weapon at TE and arguably even at wideout (Chark is good but he won't scare Bama).

That's the biggest question mark.. If they can't block a bunch of white Mormons in the red xone how are they going to block the creme de la creme of the SEC

Thats why its important to see this live in game 1. I mean, we are thin, and they rotated some guys. I dont think it has ANYTHING to do with ability, just making sure they get the right reads.

We will see vs MSU if we have improved. I think we will. We looked like fresh legs deep in the 4th.

Yes for winning the game decisively against the opponent we played, you are correct.

Long term development in preparation for our tough SEC schedule (especially Florida and Bama defenses on the road), not so much.
