Not sure if you are being sarcastic but, in case you aren't, look at the roster. There are several names I've never heard of on this forum. My point is, if they aren't making it or serving some useful purpose, why have them around?

BTW, saw your note about Spanish Fort. I love it and wouldn't move back to Mobile even though I have to drive there for work.

Alot of those kids are practice squad and scout team players. Hell, JP Lipoma, LSU's version of Rudy who graduated last year, got like 20 something touches in the spring game last year.

I wonder if the official position on this is in. Because the roster on LSU's site shows him as a sophomore. Medical redshirts have rules and have to be vetted and I haven't seen that written anywhere as being approved.

    Anyone have a link?

Loston played on Special teams in the 1st game for sure and maybe the 2nd games as well and all it takes is one play to lose your redshirt.

He is listed as a Sophomore on the roster now. He will apply for a medical hardship waiver if needed when his eligibility runs out. He could apply for it now but you rarely see that and I don't remember LSU ever doing it that way either.

Two years ago, Miles said Jefferson was going to be on a medical hardship waiver...until Lee and Hatch both got hurt.

I'm unsure why you would wait until that late in the game (i.e. senior year, "when he needs it") to risk getting turned down. I haven't thought much about this - can you 'splain?

I don't remember that about Jefferson. Waivers are usually requested after the season or after eligibility runs out. They may hold off on Loston if they feel he will declare early for the NFL draft and therefore they would be no reason to request an extra year or eligibility. I could be wrong though.

I'm sure I could find it in the forum if I had time. It was one of those Gilbeau-esque press conference question/answer things. When folks were wondering why Jefferson wasn't getting his shot and Miles was trying really hard NOT to say it was because Jefferson didn't know enough of the offense yet.
