You can very well replace the names with LSU players from last year and see the results this year. Loss of key players results not only direct impact on their position but also leadership. And I hope you are NOT under estimating the value of a good QB. We are an average QB away from getting back to Atlanta.

No, he doesn't stir the pot out of nowhere...

"A year later, the most repugnant and pathetic group of fans in college football was strikingly silent."

"Now, as Alabama ascends and LSU quickly exits from the national scene, supporters of Miles will be as difficult to find in that sewer-infested Louisiana swamp as an honest politician."

Nah...he doesn't know what stirring the pot is...

Enough with the "you guys just don't get Fidedome stuff"... We get it. He's a sensationalism journalist. Entertaining to some I guess... It's just not for many of us. I just think he's a little pr*ck who constantly bashes different people to have a job. And you can say he's smart and all this stuff, but I know a lot of smart pr*cks. A pr*ck is still a pr*ck. Pr*ck...I thought I'd say it one more time just in case I hadn't broken the record for saying pr*ck (oh there it is again!).

And I don't care how good or interesting his guests are. He could have the Pope, Bin Ladin and Bear Bryant's ghost on his show and I still wouldn't listen to him. But maybe I just don't get him...

You forgot the word USUALLY MEANING HE DOES DO IT

That was also not out of nowhere. Alabama played LSU this past weekend. I was referring to columnists that throw **** columns out in the middle of the summer because their columns usually suck and they need to keep their job.

Sorry, I couldn't read the first part of your post. I didn't have my binoculars handy, but I could see that the font was in red so I assume it said something about Bama pride.

I was being a little sarcastic in my post because I heavily believe that he does usually stir the pot out of nowhere. The article topic is timely (so that's not out of nowhere), but "Sewer-infested Louisiana" seems a little out of nowhere to me. He adds to the topic to oversensationalize (looks like a Mike Tyson word there...) Other quotes like "The most repugnant and pathetic group of fans in college football..." are in the same league. To each his own though...

Finebaum is a Howard Sterns wannabe, and I must admit he is very good at it. He has more money than all of us combined will ever have. He is the 'shock-jock' of the South. I listen to his show daily and it is obvious he has a set of 'callers' who show up daily to wipe his azz. If he had any ballz, he would have told the fans in Baton Rouge we were sewer trash while he was there in person. He is simply a punk looking for the next dollar.

Maybe so, but he is a bad writer.

Well now, on the other thread you bash us for talking bad about him. Now you flame him. :dis:

Unknown freshman quarterbacks are always the next great thing ain't they? :insane:

The season ain't over yet, either. If you lose your quarterback before the SECCG like LSU did last season then Bama is finished. A deep team puts in a backup QB who wins the MVP.

I agree with all but what is highlighted Red. Matt Flynn didn't get much playing time before he was thrown in a game to come out as MVP. Our Greg McElroy has taken a few snaps in games, he does know the playbook, he broke all of Chase Daniel's records in HS and the starting QB job is his to lose next season. At this point I really don't see Starr Jackson being our starter as a RS Freshman QB and should something happen to J.P. Wilson I wouldn't be too quick to write Bama off as finished. :)

Well, I was actually referring to Perrilloux coming in when Flynn went down last season before the SECCG. But the Flynn-in-for-Russell situation is very similar.

I just don't think Bama is deep enough to withstand many key injuries at this point, especially at quarterback. We had two stellar HS quarterbacks last spring . . . now one starts for LSU and the other for Jax State. Green quarterbacks rarely step in without missing a beat.
