Jefferson never looked great. If neither QB is any better than the other, play them both. Jefferson is actually getting worse now.
if anything, just get Lee in there to mix it up/light a fire...im usually not a big fan of this b/c IMO it doesnt allow a QB to find his rhythm...but Im pretty sure we are well beyond the point of getting in a rhythm becoming an issue.
You know, I like how Spurrier has always handled his QB's. He is not afraid to yank someone who is not performing. Look at the game against Auburn, Garcia has two turnovers and he puts in a true freshman when the game is on the line. It didn't turn out like he wanted but at least he tried something because what he started with wasn't working. It also probably lit a fire under Garcia and he'll be better because of it. We need a little of that fire and passion with our coaching staff.
Are we okay if we lose a game like this? I'm terribly afraid that we just don't have a QB. That being said, I agree with Red that we should play both JJ and JL.
I said great by comparison. I'm not sure I agree. I prefer trying to build consistency at the position. Do we really want 2 guys mucking it up back there?
I hear you, but at least an effort was made to change the course. You know, I wouldn't be okay, but I'd feel better than if we lost without trying to adjust. In all honesty, I am like SabanFan in that I would love to have that position solidified and consistent. However, also like SabanFan, I agree that we do not have a QB on this team and that being the case I'm open to trying something different. I do believe that if we ride this wave all the way it will be an extremely disappointing season....Hope I'm wrong.
I think it would benefit our team to see both JL and JJ alternating series this week. As others have suggested, we do need a spark. JJ is regressing. We can hope that JL has progressed since '08. I'm not sure of the latter, though.
I agree. He showed flashed his freshman year. Now, he's lucky to complete a 5 yard in. I think he's so scared to throw a pick, his solution is simply not to throw it at all. As for Lee, wouldn't that be the ultimate story of redemption? To have the fan base so down on you because of what happened as a freshman, then get another shot his senior year and lead the team to an undefeated season an NC. Will it happen, no. But if it did, it would trump even Flynn's story of perseverance.
If they're both "mucking", then no - definitely not. But I vote we find out which one mucks least. Right now, the one we're playing is mucking horrible...
