This is, sadly, true, which is a shame because the rest of the team is coming along very nicely. And a bigger problem is that there is no one waiting in the wings, either. That's problematic. Yesterday, my cousin who'd come in from Phoenix for the game, was hoping for JL to play. I do think we need to see more of Lee, but in all honesty, neither option is that good right now--though I think JL can deliver a more catchable ball--for our guys and the other team, for that matter.
All things being equal, sometimes just bringing in a different QB can spark something. And I know you know that with your background but I can't understand why it hasn't been done. Last night doesn't count either.
Hold on.. JJ and JL both get a year, but JJ gets a pass b/c last year he just needed Experience? The same argument can be made for J Lee. Now I am not saying you're made this argument, I am just saying that was the reason I and others supported JJ.. SO this is where I look at it. Both had a year to gain Experience... JJ "so far" has gone backwards... Proof is in 3 games with less than 100 yards 2 of which he only completed 10/20+ passes and in those 2 games, he was just BAD. If JJ keeps that crap up, JJ will have a few pic 6's and should of had one last night..... Why not give J Lee a few honest drives to see if he has gotten over his mistakes? I am a firm believer that b/c of the bad QB issues, are play calling turns into crap b/c GC doenst know wtf to do..
:geaux:Thank you!!!! :thumb: That's exactly what we want to see. Give the kid (Lee) another chance and let's see what he can do. JJ ain't got it and ain't gonna get it. :LSU231:
Hey, I'm in full agreement. I want JL to start and to get significant playing time. I also want him to be great. But, realistically, both you and I know he's not. Otherwise he'd get some PT. At least we would know. But I fear the new reality afterward more than I fear Florida, Bama etc. I will say this. If JL comes in and it turns out he's another Mauck or Flynn then we should immediately fire Miles because he clearly was trying to lose.
To add. If the coaches give J Lee a shot and he truly hasn't gotten better, then we do not have to wonder, "WHAT IF" At least we know that Miles tried all we had..
Agree. Just I think Miles refuses to try. If J Lee was really on JJ's heals this off season, why has he not gotten a respectable drive?
Probably because he realizes that if he puts JL in and he loses the game it'll be his fault. If he's going to get blasted I guess he wants it on his terms. As long as he wins, he's ahead of the game.
Good points, just goes to show that Jefferson's mind isn't all in it. It's sad to see our team so talented and no good Quarterback.
