It was a blitz. That is why Welter was close on the line. 2 things could of happened IMO. A) call the blitz off B) hide the blitz better Welter being on the line was the fault of the blitz. I am not sure if he has power to call of a blitz on the field. I would think he does. 2nd, the safety was out of position as well. Someone on the damn sideline should have seen this coming from a mile away.

This is true, but in reality, the offense and the defense make up a team, and they have to have each other's backs. In LSU's case, defense has historically saved the day many times, and we will need them very much this year, too. Most teams have a stronger/weaker side of the ball. There are tons of teams with flashy offenses and 4-5 losses a year because they have a porous defense. I hope that their coaching staffs aren't at odds with each other, though. And I hope LSU's isn't, either. They must all work together.
