Then, they need to get over it. I mean, that loss still chaps my hide to no end, but he's done a lot more good than bad @ LSU.
Miles could win the next 5 BCS championships in a row and the Miles haters will find some reason why he got lucky or it's Cameron and Chavis who won not Miles, they won't be satisfied until he's gone them they'll bitch about the next guy.
Some are like this, I say, they are missing some great football. They keep waiting on something bad to happen, not seeing the good.
The juniors left for one simple reason: a chance at an NFL paycheck while they are still physically able to compete at a high level rather than risk injury playing another season for free. Last year was just the beginning. Brace yourselves for more and more juniors to bolt to the NFL as soon as they are eligible to do so by the NFL's "3 years removed from their high school graduation' rule.
You also tend to risk injury when you're playing 40 minutes a game because the offense isn't pulling its weight.
A few of those players played on offense, so that doesn't apply to them. Any player that grades out to a round 1-3 projection that does not jump to the draft needs to get new advisers. Look at Matt Barkley...stayed in school to come back his senior year even though he was projected as a top 10 pick had he come out his junior year. Instead he dropped like a rock on draft day. Jeremy Hill is eligible this year as a sophomore due to 'year off' between high school and going to LSU. He'd be dumb to not declare for the 2014 draft (providing he stays healthy). That decision would have nothing to do with anything other than he has a shot at a contract worth millions of dollars. I'd be surprised if almost all of the following juniors don't declare for next year's draft: Ego Ferguson Elliot Porter Anthony Johnson Odell Beckham La'el Collins Jermauria Rascoe Jeremy Hill Quantavius Leslie Jarvis Landry Terrence Magee Kenny Hilliard All of the juniors that declared last year are a testament to our level of recruiting and talent and their declarations have nothing to do with our record, squad outputs, perceptions of our coaches, etc. We recruit at a high level be cause we are a proven NFL talent machine.
I suspect Porter, Rasco, Leslie, McGee, and Hilliard still have much to improve and demonstrate before they are likely to be drafted. Leaving early just to be free agent camp fodder doesn;t make much sense.
