This is #1 on my sports list and it isn't even close. I was elated in 2003, but an LSU NC never seemed that far fetched to me. We are a big school with all the facilities and resources to win it all.

The Saints were a woeful franchise from a tiny market. They just always seemed destined to excite you just enough to crush you. No sporting event will ever top this.

The 2 teams that were the biggest competition in the NFC were the Cardinals and Vikings, its very possible that Favre won't be back next year, and Warner definitely won't be back next year. I think the Giants are skidding downhill, and if Carolina doesn't find a quarterback they really won't contend. Dallas will be good, as will Philly, and Atlanta, there is a real chance for at least an NFC repeat next season.

For the LSU championships I was elated, but I think I have been more emotional with these last two Saints wins. I was in awe more than anything. I had grown up (we all probably did) to just understand and accept that the Saints would never reach this point.

It's more about knowing how much it means to some other people, more than me. For Drew Brees getting a second chance to make himself one of the great QBs of the game. For those men who wore bags on their heads. For those people in the stands who witnessed the Saints' first play from scrimmage: a 94-yard kickoff return. For those who waited 20 years for the Saints to even finish over .500. For those who supported the Aint's. For those who for 43 years said "this year is going to be the year." For Buddy D. For those who saw the Saints' return to the Dome in '06 as a symbol of the return of the city. For everyone's MawMaw, PawPaw, Uncle, Aunt, Dad, Mom, Brother, or Sister who they wish could have seen this win; we all have one. For those who always Believed, and always had Faith. For New Orleans.

I think most everyone in my immediate family called me all night, its pretty high on my list, but even higher on my dads. When I was growing up he hated the Cowboys and loved the Saints. Thats the only football team he talked about.

This x 1 million. LSU wins are for me and Tiger fans. But I'm a casual Saints fan, I want them to win but it doesn't hurt if they don't. I'm SO very happy for the ones mentioned in the excellent words above. To the diehard Saints fans, enjoy. YOUR team is the Super Bowl champions! YOUR team is made of character, class, and great team effort. YOUR faith and dedication has been rewarded. YOUR team will now always be a Super Bowl winner and that can never be taken away. Enjoy!

My thought exactly. I always watch the Saints (usually hungover from the previous LSU game the night before) but it is usually nothing I get invested into. So I really dont feel like a true fan but for all of those people who bleed black and gold this has got to be so so sweet.
