Im 58 years old and have been an LSU fan since I was old enough to watch football. My dad was a high school football coach in north La, and later a principal. Football has always been the way we communicated between my brother Dad and I. We stilldo. Growing up listening to the games on the radio with John Ferguson and watching the Cowboys as our team. I liked the saints but they weren't r favorite. The reason I tell you guys this is it is moments like this that make football the best sport in the world. Nothing can lift you than feeling a part of something bigger than yourself. That's what being a member of a team is all about whether it be your job or military or fan of a football team. People who havnt grown up living football whether you played or just pulled for LSU Ionly played in the 7th grade and it didn't take me long to figure out I wasn't given the talent to be good enough to play. But I worked my way through college as a football manager and loved every minute . If you ever want to know how much work goes on behind the scenes to move these teams for a game I can tell you. I wanted to be a coach and teacher because it was the family business but my mom and dad wanted something better than the low pay that teachers made for their kids so they encouraged me and my brother into other areas. But the love for football never dies and have watched or listened to every LSU game my whole life. When Ed Orgeron talks about Louisiana and how LSU belongs to everyone that is what he is talking about. I didn't graduate from LSU as I had a scholarship elsewhere but I have been a fan since 3 and it is a cherished part of my life rejoicing or wining after every game they play. Football is king but their isn't 1 sport I don't follow. When David Toms comes to the AT & T I was there pulling for him. This is a moment that can effect all LSU players and LSU fans for the future and win or lose I take such pride in calling myself an LSU Tiger. Give it all you got Tigers and Leave it all on the field and you can walk off that field no matter what happens knowing you did your best. That's all we can ask. My wifes mother passed away this past Friday after a long struggle with Alzheimers and Diabetes and I am glad I took them to an LSU football game about 4 or 5 years ago and showed them Louisiana. I kept encouraging her to stand next to the edge of the boat on the swamp tour we did so I could push her in.Joking with her. They loved going to the game and the band and I wanted them to understand why my life goes on hold when LSU games are on. Good Luck and God Speed.and Geaux Tigers
Feel ya, but I have no problem admitting that watching hot chicks play volleyball is a very, very close second favorite sport.
I was at Tom Landry Day after that jackass fired him through the press. I am a Cowboys fan but Jerry Jones has never been a person I liked.
I was a Cowboys fan until Jones purchased the team. I knew it was time for a coaching change but the way it was handled pissed me off. I threw away almost all of my Cowboys shit and never looked back. The only thing I have is a picture of me sitting on the bench in front of Roger Staubach's locker. Its in a box with my dad.
