No i live in the DFW area. Very far North Dallas by the Southlake, Flower Mound area in a community called Lantana. yes this was a very difficult experience. I pay my debts but this has been painful. For two years now I have had to deal with it. I was confident this year would be different. I brought him with me to the Bama game. he is actually a really nice guy and a good friend. He even though about taking pity on me because he knew how mad I was. He went to the game in Little Rock although we are good friends year round we avoid each other game week because we know it can get chippy. I moved back to Louisiana for my Daughter to be born, we moved back around two years ago. I made sure she wasnt born on Texas soil. Although I do like living here. Its a great place to raise a family. The LSU flag is back up, at least I have on response to him now. We are still playing in a bowl game, Arkansas is over. By the way for those of you in Texas the LSU Texas Plate is approved and in production. I ordered two, got to Texas DOT to get one.
Isn't that crazy? I know I have friends who are fans of other SEC teams and all of my inlaws are Gayterds. We also avoid calls and visits game week, football in the SEC is serious!!!!
Thank goodness he's not an Auburn fan. If you ever lost that bet, you'd have to burn down your house...
What amazes me is how one little flag can make such a nice house look like a shack that bubba owns! You might want to change the bet to dancing around in a cheerleader outfit after the game. Anyway, keep reminding him how they never have, and never will win an SECCG.
Yeah, after my military days at Fort Hood, we moved back to N.O. in time (literally within weeks of returning) to have our son born at Ochsner. After Katrina, decided to move to NC - love it here, but glad my son was born in Louisiana. Have a good group of LSU alumnus here that we hang out with. No real rivals though. Kudos to honoring your bet - you gotta do it, albeit painful!
Yeah my son was born in Houston, something I don't know if I'll ever be able to live down. I have a friend who got pregnant a few months after my wife did and her fiance lives in LaPlace so he insisted that she give birth here in Louisiana. She wasn't happy about it but she agreed. After she had her baby we discussed trading so I could get the Louisiana native and she could have the Texan. The other parents in the equation, surprisingly, weren't in favor of it. :rolleye33: :rofl: Oh well, at least his room was before he was born, is now, and forever shall be as far as I'm concerned,.
Louisiana roots are deep, and you don't have to necessarily be born there to have it's influence, that's for sure.
I had a similar bet after the Bama game. I had to put a Alabama Magnet on my truck for a week. (I only put 18 miles on my truck that week). Of course I put it on my tailgate on the passenger side, with my LSU magnet on the drivers side. I let everyone know that I was the driver. Still got lots of comments as to why I had both magnets on my truck. I did take that damn thing off when the seven days were up.
