This is the worst LSU offensive line in YEARS.

being a foot doctor cant be that hard.

    lol

thats fair. i think hes a lot sharper than you think and if he is able to develop his young qb you'll see how good he really is. ive been impressed with a lot of what hes done since being here, however. perhaps, you never will regardless.

I've noticed that on pass plays, JJ raises his right eyebrow and then his pupils look to the left.

I hope Saban, Meyer, and Kiffin don't notice that.

It's predictable now because we are haven't had to be especially deceptive against these teams. We expect to be able to run out of the I and throw out of the spread and are getting in the reps needed to perfect them. The young QB clearly hasn't developed a touch with a go-to receiver yet. The OL hasn't gelled. Crowton can mix it up more when he has to. We shouldn't have to against OOC competition and we haven't had to.

Defenses are getting down on some of our simple runs by overloading and getting a jump on an anticipated play. Teams like that are badly vulnerable to counters and reverses, which we really haven't shown yet. Crowton knows this and we are going to burn some teams badly this year when we do that unexpectedly. Such plays work because they are unanticipated. I fervently hope that SEC defensive coordinators are as bored by LSU's offense as some of their fans.

Our guards are quicker and more mobile than last year and don't have the push inside that big Herm had. But they should be able to pull and get outside on sweeps in front of speedy backs. Right now they are working on rooting tackles out of the way straight ahead, which they also need to be able to do. But those pulling guards are going to surprise some linebackers later this season when Crowton really opens up the playbook.

I agree with John 100%, to my great surprise.

Crowton knows his business . . . the OL is good but not great . . . the QB may not have an SEC arm.

It's so noticeable that I've been expecting an illegal motion call. No kidding.

We all knew Jefferson still had rookie mistakes in front of him. His timing is bad, He throws too late, when a receiver becomes wide open instead of timing it to arrive when he is wide open. More PT should help this. If not . . . Lee has his rookie mistakes behind him and he's 3 for 3 with a TD this season on three offensive plays. The coaches surely aren't worried about passing with Lee. And they ain't letting Shepard air it.

I wish we had a QB that could sell the fake handoff as well as the USL quarterback did.

this is clearly les' m.o. always. check the stats against patsies. always the same blueprint. we should never expect anything different.

same reason les doesnt go for any 4th and shorts against vandi. lull the tougher opps to sleep when we play them. never tip your hand. les' strength is he's loose and wide-open in big games. thats not a teachable trait in a high-stakes poker game. most collapse and tighten under pressure. bob stoops, jim tressel, charlie weis. the list is endless.

    ill go 93%.

ok then thats confirmed. dont need to return the tv.

that was pretty impressive. a camera man's worst nightmare.

Yeah, there is a sizable fraction of LSU fans that think LSU should win 50-0 in every game we play, and every time that doesn't happen they throw a hissy fit about how horrible our coaches are and how they have no idea what they are doing.

If you think you can explain to Crowton how to do a better job of being an OC, then have it at. Write him a letter explaining what you see. If you know what you are taking about, he'll be impressed.

Add St. Saban to that list of coaches tight under pressure (was a problem, especially in bowl games with Nick, as it still is with him @ Bama.) The BCSNCG in '03 shouldn't have been as close as it was, but Saban played way too tight, especially after Mauck threw that interception in the 3rd quarter. The Cotton Bowl after the '02 season also comes to mind. Oh, and the Capital One Bowl.

Miles has an audacity in big games more reminiscent of Spurrier (when he had elite athletes to work with) and Bowden (in his heyday.)

Agree except I would rate the Oline D, Play Calling D and Jefferson B. Crowton has to improve the play calling and the way they are using Shep is just like how they did RP which was so predictable which I know he's probably saving the option pass but he should be able to think of more than one play. His play calling affects the QB,Defense and recruiting.
