This has got to be the weakest argument yet. Stupid penalties (offsides, false start, etc) are because of a lack of focus. Unsportsmanlike penalties, of the type we saw committed yesterday, is most certainly lack of discipline. Coaching is not part of it. Coaching is ALL of it.

It is in the college game where coaches have the most control over players - that's why those idiotic unsportsmanlike penalties happen more in the NFL. The title to this post is correct, this is the most undisciplined team.

And it starts completely at the top.

Don Long, the #1 LSU homer points out the lack of discipline and poor coaching this AM:

This LSU team appears to be poorly coached and is perhaps the most undisciplined football team I have ever seen. I hate to say this, but I am going to tell it like it is. This LSU football team has gone from being the 2007 national champions to the very worse team in the SEC, and the team has far too much talent to be embarrassing LSU fans on national TV each week. ......

Look, all I am saying is that every team has a game where stupid penalties and mistakes cost a game - ours happened to be on the heels of a disappointing season, so it is more glaring. Look at OSU last year. Do you think we dominate that game if they do not make dumbass personal fouls in the first half? They gave us several re-do's on offense b/c of def. personal fouls. It was their thirteenth game of year, and I am assuming you think Tressel is an okay coach, but why in the hell did his players show such poor discipline so late in the season? LSU has not been plagued with that all year long this year, have they? Their problems in other losses were more defensive schemes, QB play, and playcalling on offense. I actually felt they played their best game on both sides of the ball from late first quarter to late third quarter yesterday than they had since the beginning of the year. I was disappointed in the result as much for the players yesterday because they played so hard and to lose that game was not indicative of their effort. Stupid penalties, mistakes and a few poor defensive coverages by Hawkins resulted in that loss. I do not agree that coaching is all of it when a teenager reacts spontaneously to someone poking or spitting in his face - young men react emotionally. Coaching will be what prevents it from happening again in the future, so no it is not "ALL of it". It's just your frustration coming out b/c the Tigers were NC champs last year, and are a disappointing 7-5 this year, and that is understandable to be unhappy about that. Let CLM make changes and improvements to try to right the ship. If not, then I am there with you calling for a change.
