That's a good point, and video review should fix that. But if even after looking at replays, they can't tell Delpit was not going for the head, then the problem goes deeper than the speed of the game.
They need a few rule changes. Only call targeting when it is clearly an intentional vicious hit. On plays like Delpit's maybe call unnecessary roughness and a penalty but no ejection.
I want to know why the interception on the sideline wasn't reviewed. Yes we had burned our last timeout but the replay booth should still review questionable plays and the coach not have to request it. What about the first drive that was a TD . I blame O and the replay guy. Bottom Line those officials were incompetent pure and simple. Did you see the ref fiasco in the Georgia= Texas game when they targeted fromm at the end. They looked like chickens with their head cut off. The SEC refs know the rules but they get money to help Bama and look the other way. They are not incompetent they crooked paid off criminals for game fixing for bama
If we are talking about the officiating they HAVE to do something with the targeting rule. Take the Delpit play, he was clearly coming in much lower and the offensive players head came down and caused the h2h. I don't see how it is that difficult to see, or to factor in an "intent" factor. I'm sure nothing will be done but it sure needs another look.
