wow, i didnt know we were over the "Katrina thing" when people are still displaced, living in trailors and the feds havent lived up to the promises that they made. But i know your angle, already, i just had to post my opinion.
USC was a 41 or 42 point favorite and OSU's score at the end of the Championship Game WAS an embarrassment- the 37 point difference.
Yes, but was Florida whooping on us as "shocking" as Stanford beating USC or 1AA App St. upsetting a #5 Michigan? Probably not.
Shait, it was for me. That was an aberration, something like that will not happen for OSU agin for a looooong while.
You're right. I just meant that, fair or unfair, Katrina is old news to the majority here in Louisiana. But sure, there are still a minority who are still affected by Katrina (displaced, living in trailers, etc.). That was pretty rude of me to brush them off like they don't mean anything at all. I'm just saying that, fair or unfair, Katrina is old news to the majority, and it will have no major impact on this football game today.
Wait a minute, we're not talking "Shocking" we're talking "Embarrassing". I'll ask you, which one was more embarrassing to you? Florida whooping OSU; Stanford beating USC; or 1AA App St. upsetting a #5 Michigan? I was embarrassed for y'all, I even felt sorry for all the titty babies crying in the stands.
Thats true, it will probably be the the story that is really unmentioned and not really thought of. Good point.
To you Buckeyes who refuse to admit the reality of how humiliating your loss to Florida was: you were ranked #1 all year long, you beat #2 Texas and #2 Michigan. Your QB was given the Heisman. Your undefeated team made the cover of Sports Illustrated twice last year -- the 2nd time the cover read: "The Best. Period." Then you play a one-loss SEC team for the title and get absolutely beat down, 41-14. I can't imagine a more humiliating scenario for any fan to have to go through.
Of all people on this damn board why did I expect anything else. Truth is (and I don't know where you live). I never said this happened yesterday. And even though the state has recovered for the most part are you gonna sit there and tell me people 'still" aren't affected? New Orleans isn't nearly what it once was. And I personally know there are still folks out there who were poor to start with that still are away from where they were born and raised and still can't afford to get home. Get a freakin grip!
C'mon phlas, I understand where you're coming from but he amended it. I think he meant it as not having any bearing on this game as far as motivation- unless I'm misinterpreting. :thumb:
