Not sure how good they are but I am thinking they could prove to be the best if lots of ifs yet but they have faced all and won pulling away
Hard to call one THE best when we've had some dam good ones but top to bottom, special teams and all, they may be. And as for the truest definition of "team" I get the feel they have tremendous chemisty. I'd bet there have never been any better "teams" in that aspect. Credit MIles. He's like a father-figure to many of these kids.
Hard to think when we played 4 top 20 teams in the 1st 6 games with 3 of those on the road. Oregon is now in the top 10 and WV has only the only one loss to LSU. We are scoring close to 40 each game We have one int We are 3 deep at QB We are 4 deep at RB We are 8 deep at OL We are 9 deep at DL We havea NFL DB group and 8 deep Our STs are awesome We have the single best DB in the nation what are we missing ???
LSU’s Offensive Line - Not enough credit has gone to LSU’s offensive line. During the game, the Tigers suffered another injury on offensive line and the unit didn’t miss a beat. Center P.J. Lonergan went down with an ankle injury in the second quarter, which forced T-Bob Hebert into action. It was the fourth straight game, LSU has used a different offensive line combination, but the Tigers still rushed for 238 yards and put up 453 total yards. LSU’s Defense - Florida didn’t have much of a chance against this LSU defense, which even defensive coordinator John Chavis admitted might be his best during his long coaching career. The Gators were inexperienced at quarterback and the Tigers never allowed freshman Jacoby Brissett to feel comfortable. Florida managed a season-low 213 total yards of offense. Safety Brandon Taylor led the way with seven tackles, two pass break-ups and an interception.
I did not put on the list Coach Miles could turn out to be the winnest coach in modern BCS era Not only is he a great game day coach but his staff is just awesome this guy has it going and with a young family loving some BR he has time to really put some numbers up Of course I will not talk about 2012 but if you think about what that team will have on paper - oh boy You will start hearing that CLM is not just lucky but can flat out coach
Lots of "unknowns" out there. However, no doubt this is a team that def could go undefeated. I have had the same pessimistic demeanor of most tiger fans in the past. However, considering the implementation of the "Big Cat" type repetoirre in the practices, every single players' zealous enthusiasm for "the dominating your guy approach", the physical and mental skills of the defense, adjustments made during the game (and from game to game), and the "make 'em pay for stacking the box" improvement from the qb position, I'm starting to say we are headed towards making a new standard for LSU football.
Ok....if were gonna compare our defenses say the 2003, 2007, to 2011 team......believe it or not our 2011 team is really different from the other two teams, am I the only one that see's this? This years defense is built mostly on team speed ....ALL OVER the field at every position, this is a typicall chavis type defense, give up some size to be faster than everyone else. Our other defenses along with Saban's defense this year, are built more on BIG PHYSICALL type players that will hit you in the mouth every play and hope you quit! It will be a seriously interesting match up 11-5. I will say this.......saban's defense is a little more apt to give up the big plays on the backside. He is a live by the sword, die by the sword type coach, he will make some plays defensively but give up some big ones on the backside also. What do you guys think?.....am i way off base here?
Saban has a massive D that can not match our size and speed. Not saying we win that game but Bama is bigger not as fast - We are big and fast. I was thinking down the same line as you and not sure who wins bigger but not as fast. Bigger is a BIG thing in football !!!
