I know this is early and just one opinion but 5 guys from UNC defense in the 1st round of the 2011 draft??? We better be able to move the ball in more than one way.:geaux: Peter Schrager's 2011 NFL mock draft
i think everyone is expecting this game to be a literal snore-fest, a defensive struggle. the team that can muster any amount of offense is going to win. i have the game as 50/50 winnable for LSU. it's hard to say how our offense will look since this will be the first game of the season. we cannot go into the game like we did against washington last season and expect to win. if we thought that that defense was good... well, this game will not be easy.
As fans we assume the opponent will always bring their A game, but it works both ways. UNC better strap it on as well.
Here is my thought: with all of the negative press about LSU players in the NFL, how we did in the draft, that our O is suspect, and that although we should be better the pundits aren't to positive about our chances next season, I think that Miles, the coaches, and the players are going to come out swinging and fired up. I think that the Tigers are going to want to make a statement from the start, to put everyone on notice that we are the Tigers, and even though we have had a couple of rebuilding years we haven't gone anywhere. That we will be a very big part of the National Championship picture. We will take UNC to the woodshed and bring the bats. :geaux: :tigereye: :LSU231:
Exactly the way I felt prior to last season. I will borrow a phrase from my amigo and political opponent Red and just say "prove it". I hope you are right, I want nothing more than for the program to be back on track but I'm not buying the hype until I see it this time.:geaux:
Oh, I agree, I just know that if I were CLM or a player on the team all of this would just be extra motivation for me to prove just how great I really am. I can only hope that CLM, the coaches, and the team think like me.
