Washington is a bad team that LSU barely managed to beat. Washington is a actually a 'quality' team and they beat USC! Washington lost to Stanford. Washington is an average team. Miami and Florida State had an amazing game against each other. Both Miami and Florida State are pretty good teams! Miami took care of Georgia Tech. Miami is one of most impressive teams in the nation. Florida State manhandled BYU at their place. Florida State is a pretty darn good team too! Miami is a top ten team! Miami lost to Virginia Tech. Not a top ten team after all. Florida State lost at home to USF. FSU not so good either. LSU "barely" beat Washington. LSU must be a bad team. Washington must be a bad team. LSU beat Vandy. LSU and Vandy both must be bad teams. LSU beat ULL (happy ragin cajuns, spelled it right). LSU is a bad team that beat a terrible USL (once was enough) team. LSU miraculously beat Mississippi State. LSU is a bad team, obviously. Miss St. is an awful team. Feel free to add your own.
You summed it up nicely. We don't know chit. But we can still still be hopeful because nobody knows chit. What a weird season this is gonna be. I'm going along for the ride - I'm just not sure where we're going. :geaux:
i hear ya, but i'm feeling better today b/c i've officially chalked this season up as a practice season. parity in coll fb is greater than ever. so yes it's become every given saturday thing as you've illustrated. so to me, the question comes in as do you (not you personally, but everyone in general) put LSU up with fla and bama this season? if not, then i doubt anyone will ultimately be dissapointed in this season. but while we're 4-0 we're letting teams like washington (not so bad now considering) and miss st have the ball for 80+ plays. so the defense is incosistent. bending a lot but getting timely turnovers and stops. right now i know that's all that matters but in games against better opponents the tigers can't let a team get the third down conversions they've been getting. i'm a firm believer that LSU was a premier team this decade because of its strength on the lines and how good they've been on 3rd down, offense and defense. that doesn't look to be the case right now and LSU doesn't just have 1 thing to work on right now, it's multiple. and in a year where you have a 19 yr old starter at QB, you need to be sound in other areas. i think JJ is progressing nicely, but there are other parts of the team are either not or they take a few steps fwd and one back. i hope the craziness continues, but going back to whether you consider LSU on the same level as florida and bama, after watching all three teams play (very similar opponents btw, UK, MSU, and ark are about even and i'd say maybe ark is a step above but they had to go on the road). it's clear that florida and bama are playing at a much higher level (this week anyway) what's happened in the past 4 games is all fans have to go on. not potential and not the past (seasons). expectations need to be lowered for this team b/c i think we are seeing the lashing out of many (on this board especially) by those that expect LSU to be a 10 win team every year and the shattering of that concept taking place their very eyes. anything can happen, that's my mantra right now. (like a team that hasn't clicked for 4 games, all of a sudden will put it together). anything can happen.
Ive read a lot about the polls and basically everyone says, " after the top 3, it could be anyone at this point." LSU is in control of their own season. I know they will step up. And if they dont. I hope we get to ruin Bama or UF's chance LOL...
Here are some things I know. 1. When Trindon Holliday is in the game the play will be a handoff to, uh, Trindon Holliday. If he lines up on the right side he will take the handoff and run left. If he lines up on the left side he will take the handoff and run left. The opposing teams defense hasn't figured this out yet. 2. On first and ten the play will be a handoff to CS into the line. The opposing teams defense hasn't figured this out either, which is probably why they are stacking 7 men on the line. 3. When Russell Shepherd comes in the game he will take the ball and run with it. Then he will leave the game. Surprisingly this has been very successful probably because the defenses haven't figured this out yet. Makes one wonder what would happen if you could get this guy in space. Here are some things I am beginning to suspect. 1. Our offensive linemen are not the problem. The defenses are playing the linebackers right up on the line. 5 offensive linemen can't block 7 defensive linemen no matter who they are, and until we start burning their azzes and making them pay for it, they will keep doing it. 2. Jordan Jefferson is young and inexperienced but a very talented quarterback. He can throw, he can run, he is cool under fire. I also suspect he is a much better quarterback on the field than Gary Crowton is in the press box. 3. Smoke signal play calling don't work.
what you people fail to realize is that luck is half the battle. les is one lucky muther probably because hes a good dude and lives right. unlike most of us. he is guided by something greater and will win a couple of these seemingly impossible games due to injury, weird calls or something unforeseen. this is why you need les miles on your side no matter how confused he seems at times. its all part of a much bigger plan. i learned this through many years of questioning the ridiculous nature of one stanley bertman. that dude made so many seemingly ridiculous moves that panned out it was beyond belief. and opposiing coaches guided by evil make even more ridiculous decisions like this past weekend. the 3rd down call by mullen is an example. yet they dont pan out. thats about equal to the stanford coach pulling justin wayne was it-in omaha when he was unhittable. while skip goes on to win his improbable 5th cws. just be glad les is on our side and follow him blindly into the midst. 'cause every little thing gonna be all right"
