Things I have learned this recruiting season

Well at this point I'm inclined to start believing in the alls fair in love, war and recruiting motto.

LSU got burned at the last minute by at least 3 kids who were supposedly solid to LSU then they screwed LSU at the last minute leaving us with no options.

If I was Miles I would go back to the policy of no more visits after committing. You're either committed or you're not. If you're taking other visits you're not committed and there are no guarantees.

Lock down the state early and cherry pick from Texas, and the rest of the southeast. If you're a Louisiana boy you should know whether or not you want to be a Tiger. Commit early and guarantee your spot or all bets are off.

Some of my best times watching LSU football have been watching players that spurned LSU get the losing end of the stick on gameday. Looking forward to watching Jackson get torched by LSU.

Geez man, Randall graduated years ago. He had nothing to do with anything. Give the guy a break.

The fence around La isnt at all down, but its not so strong anymore. Between the Benton/Randle situation, the Sentimore/Lacy, and then losing commits Jackson and Bell on signing day. Not to mention to a lesser extent Myles and Fluker being former La kids. That fence is weakening a bit. LSU still got the majority of kids they wanted but its not a good sign. Also LSU may have had to sell their soul to keep Randle. I hope the truty comes out about that whole situation. If Bentons scholly was taken away to get Randle then I lose a lot of respect for Miles and staff. Hopefully thats not the case.

Between the Benton/Randle situation- Unique and not common. There has always been talk that neither wanted to play with each other.

Sentimore/Lacy- Both big time grade risks. We learned from Dinardo what counting on big talent with big grade risks does. Recruiting is time consuming and you can't spend all of your time recruiting kids that probably won't ever be eligible.

Jackson and Bell- Bell was a commit many LSU fans were never excited about. The belief was that he would never see the field at LSU which is one he obviously shared because he bolted when he knew the uphill battle he would face at LSU. Jackson is a big time screwing and it is what it is.

    Sure I will bite.
    So Topic
    1. Shepard - Wasnt complaining about Shepard was stating a fact that he was telling everyone all these people are coming to LSU when none actually did. Basically an observation that he is a kid and maybe bunch of people on a message board shouldnt get all excited about an 18 year old - Complaint maybe but more at ourselves.

    2. Florida connection - Was a question - Read it again

    3. So you have no issues with two top ten recruits long committed to LSU bolt at the last minute - Complaint maybe so.

    4. Same as one, basically saying all of us are full of sh*t when it comes to know what is truly going on. So if a complaint again a complaint at us not LSU or Miles

    5. It does, seems odd that Ruebens dad played a role in this. I am not the only one

    6. "I am not going to lament the kids we lost and celebrate the ones who chose to be LSU Tigers. Class kids and great talents should be fun to watch them grow." - that is a complaint ???????

    7. O.K maybe those could be seen as a complaint... But it was more just my opinion. So O.K. I will give you that.

    And lastly

"From top to bottom this class is stacked. But I hope some of the concerns above are only an abberation and not a sign of possible things to come.

I know it sounds like I am complaining about a top 5 class I am not because if you look at the positives there are many.
    1. We got the #1 player in Texas AND Louisiana
    2. Got some players from non bordering states.
    3. Class is loaded with Speed from Top to Bottom
    4. Got some solid playmakers on both sides of the ball
    5. Several will contibute as freshman."

Yeh that seems like some serious complaints.....

    OK. Randle. :dis:

Texas Tiger. The righteous indignation/judgemental thing wasn't directed at you, but I did feel like your post was just another in the long line of "woe is LSU" posts that have been dominating today.

I apologize and chalk it up to my own frustration.

Its not uncommon but its still a messed up move if they took a scholly away from a kid to appease the other. I also understand its a tough situation because Benton may not make the grades to play at LSU.

I also understand about Sentimore and Lacy not having the grades. Still, the coaches should have stuck by the a bit more and not leave them out to dry. Even if we dont sign them its good to have good relations with the La kids. All of a sudden Pratt leaves, we could have used Lacy. LSU shows love but its too late. Bit us on the a$$. Similar with Sentimore.

I was never overly excited about Bell but he is a La kid that Satan stole. Not a good sign no matter how you want to spin it. Jackson showed zero character and integrity. No matter what its not good to lose such a great instate kid.

Overall Im very excited about this class. I just hope that fence isnt starting to crack. If so LSU will have to continue bringing in more big time out of state talent.
