I agree. Hatch is very smart with the ball and has enough talent to get the starting nod. It should be interesting in the fall. Could be a two QB system.
Tommy Hodson started as a redshirt freshman, won 10 games and started for four years at LSU. It could happen.
I'll was under the impression that he's a Junior this year.. but at the start of the fall he's a senior. If I'm wrong then my point is null.. Perhaps I should go check these things out.. lol
That is the truth. From what I've been told, it won't matter who the QB is, they'll have all day to decide what they're gonna do... I believe the person who told me that.
I was very happy when we recruited this young man, and am excited to see just how he developes. I think for the situation he is being put in that he couldn't ask for a better team or system to learn in. Our offensive line, wide recievers, and running backs will more than make up for any short comings that he may have. Given time, he will have plenty of opportunity to shine.
I thought that Hatch looked great in the Spring Game. He is very fast, and put some great touch on the balls he threw. He made a couple of spectacular throws, one being on a roll-out to the left that he placed precisely in the corner of the EZ. He seems to be a great fit for Crowton's system, which I suspect is why Gary brought him here (he was a recruit of Gary's at BYU). The Wizard has a great track-record of getting the most out of his QB's, so I feel that we're in good hands whatever the case may be. But if what we saw from Hatch in the Spring Game is what we can expect on a consistent basis, you won't hear a single gripe from me should he be named the starter. I know that Lee has more talent out of the two, but Hatch seems to be a little further along at this point.
