As far as Lee goes, he'll be just fine. I always thought he'd end up being a great starting QB from what I've seen of him. Everyone I've talked to says he's the read deal and is ready for whatever task is at hand. I also heard Hatch was looking pretty good, but they're not gonna give him the nod over Lee when it's his last year. Not when they've got someone that is at the least AS good that's got 4 years of eligibility left. They're gonna go with Lee and get his experience started early. Hatch would have to be WAY better than Lee to get ahead of him... not just marginally.
Hatch is a Jr, no? But I agree at any rate with your point. I just want to hear why Izzy thinks Hatch doesn't have what it takes. Perhaps he saw something different at the Spring Game or during practices.
I think Hatch has what it takes and he also played with confidence the very few times he got into the games last year. I think we will see a mixture of the 2 over the 1st quarter of the season until someone creates some seperation. Lee has been a little shaky under pressure in the Spring and that may take a few games to get over. I think that will be Lee will eventually win out but they could compliment each other. Too early to name the starter yet IMO.
all the clowns whining about the Appy State game before should be happy to know now that LSU starts with a very, very soft 3-4 games to begin the year to let Lee grow.
Pretty balanced article by Mandel. He shares the same feelings I have about next season with Lee and/or Hatch on the field. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/writers/stewart_mandel/05/02/perrilloux.react/index.html
I trust that :milesmic: is doing the right thing and he will be working extra hard to make sure that J. Lee, Hatch, and J. Jefferson will be ready for another great season.
If he's as smart as they say, he's probably somewhat prepared. He's got one hell of an Oline to learn behind.
