Found this over on Tide fans. I didn't respond I just laughed. I look around on other boards plenty of times and I haven't seen anyone posting how they wish they had Saban. I haven't looked on Vandy or MSU boards so I may have missed it. http://tidefans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=77869
Looks like you did respond... Saban is a good coach. No one in the country expected what is happening this year. I think it is a combination of everyone underestimating the talent already on the Bama roster and having a favorable schedule (with the SEC being very very top-heavy this year). I am still very skeptical of what is happening this year with Bama. In 2005, Bama fans were all talking about the national championship 10 weeks in. They were on the cover of SI with "Bama is back" written all over it.
has that miserable old **** left that site yet? maybe when he does ill check this thread out. perhaps alextuscaloosa can let us know how ethical that thread is before i check it out.
Yes, its true. We in particular as LSU fans want Saban. We happen to believe he'll make an excellent Defensive coordinator.:thumb:
Just wait until he takes Bama's talent to back to back 9-3 seasons. This will happen over the next few years. -OR- He loses to a UAB-type with all that talent. That will happen, too. See ULM last year. I appreciate what Saban did at LSU, but GOD- he isn't.
I used to think that our fans were obsessed with Saban. Now I have realized that it is Bama fans who are obsessed with Les Miles & LSU. They so badly want Les to fail at LSU. Many of the articles around Bama, on Bama blogs, and elsewhere all compare Saban to Miles and are touting the demise of LSU under Les Miles. They are so very desperate to win that it's pathetic. Would someone remind me who Bama has beaten this year? __________________
If Saban has so many freshman starting and yet they are doing this well, I would say they will be very good for the next couple years. With the big recruiting classes they are getting they will be good and I expect them to get a title soon. We all respect his defensive knowledge, teaching the players how to play their positions, and his discipline, and I believe this will bode very well for Bama the next few years. I'm not going to ridicule Saban just because he left LSU but I respect his abilities as a coach, I just don't appreciate the commitment he showed here at LSU. If Bama gets a good QB in the future and OL, I believe they will be big force to deal with. All the more reason that Miles needs to correct this DC situation for next year and hang to Crowton as long as possible.
