I agree with you. I think these guys will repeat next year. This game was "WON" in the trenches for OS. They were awesome. Urban Meyer - "Wining" , Les Miles .................well
That would have meant a three year bowl ban and if memory serves we've never seen anything more than two.
Next year, Ohio State just might start to have a problem losing kids to the NFL. From what I hear, that can hurt a program so I am not ready to say 'changing of the guard'. But OSU looked strong in so many areas. They really surprised me.
I don't know for sure but it doesn't matter because the discussion was about four teams, not just two. But for me, Ohio St made their statement last night and they should have been there. FSU was the outlier so it's time to stop automatically going with the "last year undefeated champion" shit. What have you done for me lately? And I'll say it again, the old BCS system would have given us Bama and FSU. I wasn't referring to just the post season aspect. You really think Ohio St is in that game last night with a 30 scholarship reduction?
I posted this in another thread but it addresses your comments. http://www.si.com/college-football/2015/01/07/ohio-state-2013-recruiting-class-national-championship
Well I guess I should have used a different phrase, but O St. has been good since CUM has gotten there. How many have they lost in his tenure(38-3) and now they have a NC to go with it. Some always like to tout Miles did this and that and has won this many, what about what Urban has done in Ohio. Only time will tell if they are going to be dominate for years to come, but they have a young team, a 3rd string qb that is better than any we have on the roster and a three year head start. Oh and he beat Saban, something we haven't done in 4 years.
Very telling quote from that article... “What they’ve done is ridiculous,” senior defensive tackle Michael Bennett says. “It’s hard to understand how these sophomores and redshirt freshmen can go do what they do.” Seems they don't use the "too young" excuse that is heard around here all too often.
