Regardless of who we play, there's no such thing as a perfectly matched game. One team will always have an advantage over the other in particular areas and vice versa. IMO, the team that wins in the trenches, on both sides of the line, will win the game. We finally beat Alabama in 2019 because we dominated in the trenches and that still holds true now. If we don't win in the trenches, it doesn't really matter who we play because it will allow opposing teams to hang around and possibly beat us. Coach O was great in bringing in the great athletes, but he struggled with landing stud OL. It appears CBK realizes the trenches are important by already landing some very talented OL and hopefully that will continue.
Interestingly, 3 of the 5 announced starters on the OL were on the team last year and a 4th, Will Campbell, committed to LSU before Kelley was named as HC. Additionally, the OL coach (Brad Davis) was on the staff last year. So if we see the significant improvement that we all hope for, we can debate all the reasons for the improvements.
