If you handed a guy a program that was in decent shape and said "see how bad you can fuck this up and don't waste any time" i couldn't imagine it going much differently. He as well as all of you saying "this is not a big deal" will rue this day.
So what percentage of us being known as DBU is a result of the DB coaches and how much is a result of the players?
If he's a 5 star DB and he wants to come to LSU, it doesn't take a hell of a lot of effort to recruit him. If he's a 5 star DB and lives up to the hype, it doesn't take a hell of a lot of effor to coach him. It's the 4 star DBs and below that require a bit of recruiting and coaching. The coaches weren't responsible for us being known as DBU. The players were.
I don't follow recruiting. But we were known as DBU less than 15 years ago so we recruited quite a few. Stingley, Webster, & Mathieu come to mind.
