!!!!!! This is fantastic news! Best replacement possible. Talk about one extreme to the other. Kornholer should go, too.
espn reporting they called theismann to inform him of his demotion yet claim he is still unaware because he never shut up long enough to hear. after 2 hours, they just hung up.
I agree about Bermnan. Ron Franklin is great. He got screwed over that statement he made. I thought it was funny. EDIT: I love Jaws coming in. I think Kornheiser will sound better because Jaws wont make it so damn awkward like Theisman did.
finally, a good move by MNF. if kornheiser and jaws works (and it should) i might actually like watching MNF again. i've always thought tirico was 1st class. i like jaws, theisman was a show killer.
How about CBS paying Charlie Freaking Casserly to be an NFL expert? That's like hiring me to talk about nag basketball. I hate Theesman with all of my being. That pompous ass just lost his mind persecuting my boy Ricky. If that was done by most people, it would be my least favorite things they had done. With Theesman, it's mid-list. He's about the most useless talking head to ever don a headset, and I hope he never finds work again. Absolutely. Jaws is awesome, and can teach a lot, which is pretty rare in that business. He and Kornheiser have great chemistry, AND Jaws can take a joke, unlike holier-than-thou grade a a-hole Theesman. This broadcast team should be great.
Ain't that the truth! I never liked him much before that incident. I never took him seriously. He's like a little child that just blurts out anything and everything just for attention's sake (see also: Ann Coulter). But when he lambasted Ricky like that, I really began to hate him with all my heart. Most NFL players will tell you that watching Jaws on 'NFL Live' is like being in the locker room with your own coach. Speaking of which, I hope that he retains his duties on that show. I absolutely love the way he breaks down film.
Man, what's the deal? Are the networks completely oblivious to how much the entire world hates that jackass? Seriously, I don't know anyone who likes him. And I remember hearing several different hosts on ESPN radio make disdainful remarks about him at various times.
Just don't put him back with Al Maguire. Maguire, separated from Theismann and Mike Patrick, was tolerable on college football broadcasts. Maybe the same will happen to Theismann but I doubt it.
