"bowl eligible" a bunch of meaningless games just to line the pockets of schools and meanwhile players face injury and play for no real reason back in the day, if you were 6-7 or subpar, you weren't rewarded with a bowl experience but marketing has ruined college football - everything is a sponsor plug or pushing selling something - it's a joke I was perturbed by the loss last night but after a few minutes of wanting to burn an effegy of Miles, I just realized the game meant nothing but it might hurt recruiting With our bowl system and the BCS, not one bowl game matters unless it's the Championship game. maybe somebody out there can see if my memory is holding up. didn't years ago LSU turn down a bowl bid and stayed home ? I believe 100% had the game last night been a playoff game, LSU would have been amped up and played better but still inept play calling is our downfall.
There are too many games, but I don't expect that to change significantly in my lifetime. It would be interesting to get the players honest take on the games. Most of the time they get to travel to a city they've probably never visited, they are there for almost a week, lots of non football activities, the coaches relax the curfew and bed checks, they get a bag of SWAG, and the seniors get out on the town and can have a couple of brews and perhaps meet a nice young lady who they can discuss weak side blitzes with.
Ask that ugly s.o.b. Case McCoy how that worked out for him. But as a self-respecting female, I don't think that girl has any leg to stand on--out drinking with two guys who she takes back to her hotel room. What was she expecting? Stimulating conversation?
