Bank on it, though. There will be a host of new plays that LSU runs against Ohio State, which has the nation's No. 1 total defense with 225.2 yards allowed a game.

Crowton was kidding, but if you watch any of the multitude of bowls on television between now and Jan. 7, keep your eyes open. You might see a play Crowton will try. "We're going to run Hester. We're going to throw to Early (Doucet)," Crowton said. "But at the same time, you try to disguise your plays by different formations, movements, alignments, and new plays. We've got time to work on new stuff. I may see a play on TV, and I'll say, 'That's pretty cool.' We'll have some fun stuff."

I can tell you that there's gonna be some spread option reads.

"The 38.6 points a game is the most in school history, edging the previous high of 33.9 a game during the last national championship season in 2003. The 218.9 rushing yards is the most at LSU since 1997. The 448.2 yards of offense is second in school history."

And some fans are still not convinced.
