    The world's fastest supercomputer can do 34 trillion calculations per second so it shouldn't take long to break it.

    Who said They broke the encryption?

    They claimed they unlocked the phone. That's not the same as breaking the encryption. They have been very vague about how they unlocked the phone. Maybe Apple capitulated behind the scenes. Maybe they did some social engineering.

    The FBI had the assistance of an "unnamed person." It was probably aq 15 year old hacker.

    I can think of a few other ways to open it. Maybe they got his bank pin and tried that. My bank pin and iPhone pin are the same. Maybe they analyzed the glass on the phone to see where his fingers have touched most often. Maybe they checked security cams and saw him unlocking it. That seems really easy.

    The bank pin or email pins or passwords to websites are the most likely but the stories keep mentioning an "unknown person." I don't use a pin on my phone but my account pin and my bank pin are the same
