There is no such thing as an unbreakable code... it's an algorithm, as such it's just math, you just need a smart mofo to work it out.
Surely google has been asked to break into their phones too. Have they done it? I haven't heard much out of them with respect to this.
It's not just the encryption, which is really strong. The problem is that the iPhone can be set to erase itself after ten failed login attempts and many people set this. They can't just put a fast computer to work trying all possible combinations. The only way around this is to build a backdoor, which is then available for anyone to hack into.
apple also has a delay which gets longer and longer after each failure. theyve done this before but it was before an encryption key was needed. thats what this is all about. thats why they should just mirror the data and give them that. but theyre trying to avoid precedence. i wouldnt give it up if I was them.
Given that we have limited time on earth, there are unbreakable codes. If it takes you a trillion trillion tries to solve it, that's unbreakable.
I am fairly certain if we can figure out how to fly a space craft several years to Pluto we can crack a code which had been created by a human who undoubtedly built the code by building upon someone else's work.
Unlike a lot of people here I don't profess to know everything...but logically anything created by a human is breakable by another human and you need not try every possibility to get the answer.
