No thread yet on the only thing beside "The Donald" that is dominating coverage? Here is my take, we absolutely need to get into that phone. I don't think "the gubment" needs to get its prying hands on a key but I see nothing wrong with Apple being forced to Crack it and say, "here you go" Which is the way I hope it plays out.
I'm all for the right to privacy but this phone belonged to a terrorist who murdered 14 people. There may or may not be info on it leading to other terrorist cells but we need to find out. The ragheads were pretty conscientious about using burner phones so I don't think they will find anything but we need to be sure.
It's not about having anything to hide and all about uncle Sam in your business. Which is why I'm against them having any sort of key. Apple should and eventually will crumble to the pressure of the court order and open it up.
It's a very complex question but if forced to answer, I side with Apple. Shouldn't be able to coerce Apple to do something like this.
If it was just an ordinary criminal I would be on your side but since it's mooslems I would waterboard Tim Cook until unlocked the phone.
I'm very close to being on your side which is why I'm fine with them doing it and not telling anyone how. Just unlock it and hand it over. No harm done there
