Not to the law. It's the basis of Roe v. Wade which is the law of the land and a compromise that has lasted almost 50 years.

It's a compromise between abortion being illegal under any circumstance and a mother's choice being legal in every circumstance. It gave both sides something . . . therefore it is a compromise. The country is too split on this issue to not reach a compromise. That was the mistake with Prohibition--it forced a highly divided country to swallow the medicine of one side. And it failed. Compromise is important in a free society.
