This should be a good one. As usual the talk is all about Tiger and while I really hope he makes a good showing I'm not counting on it. He is way too erratic with the driver and seems to have lost his focus on the green. Maybe he will surprise me but this course is not one to "test" your game on. No one has ever won the St. Jude Classic and the US Open back to back so that means DJ is out. Early tee times should be an advantage tomorrow to get out before the wind kicks up. I'm going with Rose- Baddedly - Day - P. Reed to put up good numbers out of the gate. Tiger off at 12:47 Central playing with Dustin Johnson which is a terrible draw for Tiger. His ego won't allow him to watch DJ bomb it down the fairway and he will try to match him which will sadly be a really bad move.
Not so fast my friend. Most of the big names take the week off before a major. A lot of what I've read & seen has DJ as one of the favorites. I wouldn't argue with that assessment.
I think picking 5 in order is a good way to do this. I'll take dj Rahm dechambeau koepka Fleetwood Worried tiger and maybe even Phil don't play past Friday.
Is that their ranking order or the order in which they are going out? As for the gruesome twosome I think you may be right. We will know how silly the USGA wants to be soon. I'm hoping for a traditional US Open where anything from +1 to -3 can win it. The problem is these guys are just too damn good. I'm not sure they can toughen up a course enough to hold some of them that low.
