while giving you the benefit of the doubt, it didn't appear (at least to me) that you were being a good sport, because..... seemed liked you were trying to rain on our parade with that bit of espn"ese" perhaps i misinterpreted or misunderstood. i then asked how many of these :crystal: (meaning BCS National Championship Trophies) that usc had in their trophy case. you replied with this: the intent of my question was to prove that indeed we "deserved" the opportunity to play in the BCSCG based on the schedule we played, our ranking throughout the year, our ranking in previous years, and our having just as many of these :crystal: as anyone else. the other intent of my question was to see if you fall into the category of "any national championship will do as long as it's awarded to usc" that many folks do. evidently, based on your response you do. and that's okay, just wondering where you stand. you might not know that LSU has won a few "paper" championships that we don't count. i don't know which one's you guys count, but to me the "opelieka people's championship" has as much weight as the ap championship, or some of the 87 (and counting) that the gumps count. what do you think? sorry to spar with you, in that you are a good rival poster and i generally agree with much you post but imo your surmising that somehow the bcs "failed to get it right" is tiresome at best.

IMO a good sport comes to a rival board and acknowledges a NC win and congratulates the winners. I did that. I also believed that I had spent enough time here for people to see that I have a sense of humor, don't take things so seriously that I can't laugh, and that I have enjoyed "sparring" with facts and reasoned argument, not just blind homerism on my part. My bad. If you wanted to know where I stood, then it would have been simpler to ask. I have no problem acknowledging any NC winner. I've said on this board many times that it's not worth it to me to rehash 2003. My point on the :crystal: is that NC's didn't just start with the BCS era and that USC has had some bit of success in that regard. The thread title was thought provoking for me, didn't see it as a parade. It's a mistake I won't be repeating.
