While I agree that USC didn't take care of business, I also know that LSU needed some help from other teams to get to the NCG. After the loss to Arky, weren't too many folks here believing you'd get a shot or even deserved a shot.
Beating 6 top 25 teams were the teams we needed to beat! Plus winning the SECCG added to our SOS, which the PAC 10 doesn't have the luxury of improving their SOS with because the don't have a CG.
Admit it Vball. You're pissed that LSU again stole USC's thunder and relegated the Condom's to the scrap heap of every other team in Division 1. Right now...Today...It's LSU and then everybody else and you can't stand it. It's coming through loud and clear in your snide, whiney and bitchy little retorts.
She's sounding a lot like the ESPN talking heads USC suckups that want to will the nation into believing USC is the best. Before last night, everyone believed OSU was the best, thus ranked number 1. Now they're saying that maybe OSU wasn't that good. Or is it that LSU is just that much better. As Carville said in his ESPN interview, the PAC 10 and Big 10 wouldn't want playoffs so that they can hide in their creampuff schedules, one team come out on top and claim a high ranking without having to prove it. He also said the Rose bowl is one reason we'll never have a playoff and that the winner of this creampuff playoffs between the Pac 10 and Big 10 can claim a high ranking. You want to prove your good, play a decent schedule. This is why I think Georgia deserves it's ranking over USC.
Absent a playoff system, there will always be these subjective comparisons among 1-loss and 2-loss teams. Under the BCS, NCs tend to be equal parts skill and luck. USC and Georgia are very good teams, but my problem lies in the rationale given by fans/media as to why they deserved a shot over LSU. USC fans want a free pass for Stanford because of their early season injuries, but LSU never got that kind of consideration for Kentucky (Doucet out, generally banged up from extremely physical Florida game) or Arkansas (Dorsey way south of 100%, very hurt defense, somewhat banged up offense). Georgia wants the country to experience collective amnesia concerning the first half of their season, when they got pounded by the same Tennessee team LSU beat for the SEC title. Now even UGA's president is complaining about the need for a playoff. And guess which conferences are standing in the way of a +1? I also fail to see the relevance of the "everybody plays everybody" argument that you and Musberger bring up. The Pac-10 finished with 1 team in the Top 5, 1 in the top 15, and 2 bottom-feeders in the Top 25. The SEC finished with 2 in the Top 5 and 3 in the Top 15. Until the Pac-10 experiences that kind of parity, that argument has no teeth.
I'm not a USC fan and I don't pull for them ever.. ESPN does seem to love them. They're a good team. Solid. I don't think anyone can deny that. Are they "the best?" who knows? 10 matches against LSU and they very well could split with us.
you seem to wrap your arguments around the axle of r-kansas. not many posts go by that you don't recall the usc - r-kansas game while declaring that stanford didn't define your season BECAUSE YOU SAY SO.... you seem a bit shrill....don't worry, with your favorable schedule (after all you do play in the PAC-10) you've got a shot in the coming year.....espn will see to it.
Why does the media and USC fans always bring up the injury excuse when talking about there season. Every team has injuries, but they are the only team that can replace a starter with another player who was a 4 or 5 star recruit coming out of high school and is supposed to be a superstar in his own right. Who else has supposed superstars 3 deep at every position? They out of everybody need to quit whining about injuries. You don't think LSU wasn't hampered by key injuries also this season?
NO....no, no, no no. I don't wanna let go of my bitterness!!! BTW, the way the Tigers played last night, I think they would have beaten "any" of them...sorry. Still friends right:thumb:For everybody else...the crystals in Baton rouge...deal with it!!!
It’s a spiritual thing. We are the Chosen Ones. Or is it that we have the Chosen One? Oh hell, forget it. We won. OSU lost. Nobody else got to play. We are LSU. We are the NC. ldskule: :crystal:
