The triple option can be stopped but you have to have a disciplined defense or it can put up some impressive numbers, last I checked our d was'nt so sound.

Both the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association and Rivals.com have named Paul Johnson the ACC Coach of the Year. Stewart Mandel of Sport Illustrated named Paul Johnson his NCAA coach of the year. Johnson led Tech to the best record in the ACC, 9-3, and his team is currently the highest-ranked team in the ACC.

Also, both the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association and Rivals.com have named Georgia Tech B-back Jonathan Dwyer the ACC Player of the Year. Dwyer led the ACC in rushing with 1,328 yards (7.0 average yards per carry). Dwyer, from Marietta, Georgia, was named to the ACC All-Freshman Team in 2007. Coming out of high school in 2006, Dwyer was ranked the #10 running back in the nation by Rivals, the #13 running back in the nation by Scout, the #10 running back in the nation by ESPN, a Parade All-American, and the Georgia 5A Offensive Player of the Year. In 2005, as a junior in high school, Dwyer finished second in the state in the Class 5A 100 meters.

Re: The Official LSU vs. GT thread

As long as they go 20 to 20 and no TD's they can rush for as many yards as they want to. we just have to outscore them.

...I can respect your opinion Dudley, but I'm just saying, IMO......#54 is consistantly doing nothing postieve on defense. No only is he slow and I mean ssssaaaaaallllooooowwww but he can't shead a damn block to save his life or at least make a tackle. And if you are suggesting that Cutera is better than Riley, I'm not sure we are watching the same games. Riley has actually made plays for us while Cutera just demonstrates poor LB instincts and ability time and time again.

Again I respect your opinion and agree we are better in the 4-2-5 but I am just sick of watching this cat get out played. I mean when we are on defense all I watch is what our LB's are doing till they run off the TB screen.....I really don't think he is SEC caliber talent. And while I don't think he's LSU's only problem.......he is a liability on defense.

Morgan Burnett -- Coming out of high school, he was the #7 safety by Rivals (4 star, Rivals100), the #20 safety by Scout (4 star), and a member of the ESPN Top 150.

Here's a clip of a sack he got on a safety blitz against Notre Dame:

GT fan here. IF WE DON'T TURN IT OVER, then it will probably be a long day LSU, IMO.

Our QB has been injured but got healthy against Miami and Uga and both had top run D's.

I will say that Stafford torched our secondary and you can score points. And when you look at our losses it was b/c of turnovers.

The "assignment football" is VERY DIFFICULT for talented teams like LSU. The strength of your D is gang tackling and and superior athletes routinely "cheat" and make great plays.

Also our QB can throw the ball pretty well but our line has been so banged up we have not thrown that much.

I expect a great game. Miles is a solid coach and and you all have MUCH talent.

I'm confused here!! JohnLSU, either all other posters are used to your tactics and are ignoring you, or you are a Tech fan in disguise! I'm all for facts and honesty that one team may be better than the other, but all of your posts in this thread are overwhelmingly pro Ga. Tech! If you are for LSU, help me out here! Find another team to root for!!!!!

Tech is very good upfront on the DL. That's been a team strength for years. They also produce good LBs. If we run the ball like we did against OM and Arky it's going to be a long day.
