This is NOT the official thread. We have people for that! :D

I think we'll see a competitive game, but I think we'll fall short at the hands of our co-Geniuses.

I have been optimistic all season and have been pretty much disappointed so I'm switching sides here. I think the chicken sandwich folks are setting up a slaughter for the entertainment of the hometown Romans or Atlantans as it were and I think they're going to get it. Georgia Tech can run and LSUs linebackers and safeties can't tackle. Up the middle, around the end it won't matter. Once they get past the line of scrimmage it'll be all over. Georgia couldn't stop them and I don't think LSU can either. Sorry. Time to get real here.

LSU got the bowl game because LSU is a household name and alomost a decade of great success has made us a national powerhouse that everyone recognizes. I think we have a solid opportunity to show the country we're a good solid team, but things will need to be done greatly different to get the results we want.

I look at this game as the springboard game for next year, with 3 weeks to practice. Miles will have LSU ready to dominate this GA-Tech team. I think we win this game. Without a passing attack, I think LSU wins individual battles against an option offense, we may not be able to run a successful collective defense scheme against a passing game, but we have the individual talent to stop the veer offense.

I will choose to be optimistic about this. With a month to prepare, we should be fine.

You can come grill at my place with all of us LSU fans and watch it on the 62 inch. It's better watching with optimistic people. LOL.

I think I'll save the three-hour drive to Shreveport on New Year's Eve. I'll be christening the 52" that's supposed to be delivered to my house tomorrow.

GT's offense is interesting how it is so run-oriented. Besides GT, the military academies are the only other ones in Div 1-A using such a run-oriented offense. First-year GT head coach Paul Johnson was the head coach at Navy from 2002-2007, and he was the OC at Navy from 1995-1996.

    Run/Pass 2008
    3386/1140 - GT

    2004 10-2

we should be just as concerned about our O against their D. Their soft spot is the secondary, but i agree with stacey. the three weeks will give the athletic lsu d time to learn how to play against the triple option.

the wildcard is the team's emotions. will they sulk because they are in a crappy bowl or fight for redemption?
