We played 2 cupcakes this year. ULM and McNeese. Boise State and TCU play teams on par with ULM and McNeese, 7 or 8 times a season.
Don't kid yourself. Boise St. and TCU can match up with anybody in a one game winner take all match. Especially Boise. But, if they had to play a rigorous SEC schedule instead of the ridiculous one they have now, they would compete, but no way they go undefeated. They have solid starters all the way around, but they do not have the depth that SEC teams have and need.
It's easy to say that as a general statement, but if you gave Boise our schedule, I think they would have the same wins and loss as us. They beat Virginia Tech, so the assumption is they beat UNC. Vanderbilt loses. Mississippi St loses. WVU loses. Tennessee loses. UF, as in the case with LSU, would be the 3rd toughest game. However this UF team clearly is a lot weaker than those of the past and Boise would beat them. They've proven they beat the cupcakes, give them McNeese and ULM. Alabama and Auburn are the 2 toughest, obviously, and I feel they would lose to Auburn but beat Alabama. Going back to last year they've beaten 2 of the top 3 in the current BCS. This year, to start, LSU's schedule seemed to be the most difficult. However with how seemingly all of the other teams are down, it's really not as tough as it's cracked up to be. The SEC East is way down outside of SC and we didn't play them. UNC was depleted, and WVU is horrid. I think everything is right in place like it should be. Oregon and Auburn control their destiny. Boise St will end up jumping TCU and be next in line. However, if Auburn collapses or NCAA gets in the way, LSU will have a path to the title game ahead of both TCU and Boise. If LSU doesn't make it through with 1 loss, Boise will get the title shot.
This is the truth behind it all, but the media has done a great smoke and mirror job be pumping up the fact that these 2 teams play the really big boys as OOC games, whereas the teams in the big conferences SEC, BIG 12, BIG 10 etc play cupcakes when they step OOC. The media tries hard not to expose the fact that these cupcakes are BSU's and TCU's regular schedule. By doing this the media has created the impression that the big boys pad their win records by plaing cupcakes, whereas BSU and TCU choose a much tougher road instead of padding their records. They neglect to point out that we pad our records with the very teams TCU and BSU play regularly, which the media calls our cupcakes.

It sucks because by them playing lets say La Tech, oh well that's their conference, they can't help it, but when we do it hurts us. Is ass backwards right now, and i guess my only hope at this point is that they let Boise and TCU both play big schools, maybe even 1 for a national championship and they get crushed. That way we won't hear this crap anymore, or at least until they start playing a real schedule.
