    True. I have to chuckle though at Miami fans who say "it's gone on long enough". They have been under scrutiny FAR shorter than USC. Shalala should have taken a lesson from our AD. Bloviating and complaining will not work with the NCAA. Until university presidents complain en masse, the NCAA will continue their nonsense with impunity.

    I think the NCAA nonsense has to do with making sure players players produce millions of $$ without getting paid. The adherence to strict amateurism keeps NCAA, inc. in business by necessitating staffs of investigators and lawyers employed. Got to keep those billable hours up !!!

    Strict standards of amateurism are archaic...even in the olympics, NBA players can compete. College athletes are screwed a lot more than Jim Thorpe ever was.
