    I made a slight edit.

I dont' think Miles is perfect, and I don't think he's a great coach. I think he's a very good coach. And I think he's a great fit with LSU.

If you pick apart any game called by one of the above coaches, you'll find plenty to complain about. Both Meyer and Tubberville were harshly criticized by their fanbase for poor clock management and playcalling when we beat them this year. Are they bad coaches, too? :dis:

The media -- the same media that thinks Charlie Weiss is a ****ing genius -- thinks that Miles is a "bad" coach. Again, Miles isn't perfect, but he's not the thumb-up-the-rear, drooling, 87-IQ-on-a-good-day moron that some imply.

Even without your QB, you should at least be able to SCORE against UCLA. Notre Dame did.

Ah, but Jimmmaaay was back "home" in Socal. There's a comfort factor there for Emu boy.

The Floats are demoralized without Dixon. Some teams have experience in rebounding after a tough loss, others have to learn what it feels like. And ugla's D is decent enough.

The last two seasons have been the the basketball equivilant of having Shaquille O'Neal, Stanley Roberts, and Chris Jackson on the same team...and not making it to the Final Four.

I think it is now obvious, as if it wasn’t before, that the stodgy uppities at Michigan want no part of Les Miles. To them he is only a Michigan man at face value.

The thing is he was too stupid not to recognize this before he made all those dumbass non-answers at his pressers regarding Michigan. He should have just tattooed a “M” on his forehead while saying, “we are just going to drop it for the time being.”

So how should we feel? A game away for securing a BCS championship game bid, especially since Tennessee beat Kentucky, and our head man is crying over the Michigan job in public?

Call me crazy, but I want my coaches to at least put up a reasonable front that Baton Rouge is the job for me.

Of course LSU is the ONLY school on the planet with talent. Everyone else is lining up Jr High kids, while we're fielding an NFL team.

Here's a suggestion. WATCH that press conference. He got choked up talking about LSU!

Like getting choked up talking about the Tigers in a press conference?

I'd feel like crap if that happened. Good thing it didn't.

Nutria is right - Coach Miles was choked up about his LSU team - NOT about Michigan.

After that PC, I was convinced that he is the right man for LSU - because he CARES about the school and the team.

Will he go to Michigan? Don't know. We'll all find out about that later.

But CLM definitely cares about his Tigers. :eek:ldskule:

I like Miles and think he is a good coach. For whatever reason, we are not dominating teams we should be at least convincingly beating. Even Ole Miss gave us a tough time. Arky shouldn't have been such a tough game and UK certainly shouldn't have beat us.

If some are going to fault Miles for being distracted by the UM rumors, then you need to point the finger at Pelini also. I fault the defense for most of our woes.

There was no decent game plan for the UK or Arky game. UK was a passing team and had no running game b/c Little was out, however, UK picked LSU apart and did zero blitzing on a pocket passer. Arky is one dimensional with outstanding RB's but the run defense has been or bread and butter, yet Pelini had nothing for the defense and kept Dorsey in there even though he wasn't even 60%.

Pelini is much more distracted than Miles currently because he is actually meeting with Neb instead of watching tape and developing a game plan for Tenn. I have a feeling that Tenn will pick us a part like UK and Pelini will have a bland vanilla plan for LSU. I mentioned almost 2mnth ago that Pelini would be named the NEB HC after the SECCG.

Pelini deserves a lot of blame for the lack luster performance against UK and Arky. Remember OU lost badly to USC after Pelini was headed to Neb for a DC job. I think that is right?????

I do think Crowton needs to shade more towards running the ball more and Miles needs to over ride him here. This absolutely wears down the defenses and with the fresh legs of our RB's we could control the TOP and keep our defense off the field. We gashed Arky for 6-7 yds every run. Why pass when you have a 10 yd field when going for 2 pt conversion. Hell, Hester falls forward for 3 yards after contact. Just pitch it to him. Miles should've over ridden Crowton in that case.

I'm not going to throw Miles under the bus. He cares for the team and players and it was evident last week in the PC and it was evident when LSU scored TD's this weekend. He was as excited as any. I think he is a good coach, recruits well, hires good coaches (except sp teams coach), and makes some good calls and gambles on the field.

Would I like for him to put an end to the UM rumors? Sure, but I don't want him to lie about it. Everybody knows he will consider it if it comes up for him.

NUTRIAITCH.........and everyone else on here would u guys please stop taking up for miles. the article was dead on its so obvious the only thing i have been wondering is what took everyone so long to see that miles is not very good. theb man squandered 3 teams that were more than enugh talent to win a BCS title as a matter of fact he hasnt even brought an SEC title to baton rouge. yet he had BCS championship talent...remember we havent won an SEC TITLE since 2003
